Remembrance and Grief
This artwork was inspired by the glowing purple candles which are lit on Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) holiday and are placed on the shrines and altars in remembrance of loved ones. The color purple signifies pain, suffering, grief and mourning. The families of the dead use purple to acknowledge their loss.
