Black Cat Mosaics

Created on a lightweight, yet sturdy, handmade substrate, this artwork features layers of bronze metal coating that has been oxidized using a special acid to create a real patina. The patina has been carefully sealed, providing stability over time. The circular design features a variety of stones and minerals, native to the American Southwest. The 3 small squares are handmade tesserae, carefully created using the same technique as the main substrate.
