Contemplation” explores the meditative qualities found in repetition, texture, and natural materials. Brecciated jasper, with its intricate fractures and rich earthy tones, symbolizes the beauty in imperfection and the layered nature of thought. Slate, flecked with mica, adds subtle flashes of light—like moments of insight within stillness. The orderly arrangement of stone and metal elements evokes the quiet rhythm of breath, heartbeat, or mantra, offering a visual space for inner reflection. This piece reflects my ongoing dialogue with the earth’s raw materials, honoring both their physical presence and their capacity to ground us in mindful awareness.
